Job Description

The main duties of the Gateshead based Accounts Payable Supervisor are to supervise the accounts payable function for a group of companies.Client DetailsOur Gateshead based client is a well known, national business.DescriptionThe key duties of the Gateshead based Accounts Payable Supervisor are the supervision of a team of 4 to ensure the below duties are completed in a timely manner;

  • Supplier invoices are scanned, distributed, processed and allocated for authorisation on accounting system on a timely basis.
  • Ensure accurate recovery of input VAT
  • Management of the invoice authorisation process
  • Timely and accurate passing of invoices to nominal, vehicles and subcontract liabilities
  • Communicate unauthorised invoice position weekly
  • Timely resolution of supplier queries with budget holders
  • Monthly supplier statement reconciliations, dealing with and resolving an account anomalies as they arise
  • Monthly / mid monthly supplier payment runs in accordance with timetable
  • Minimise unapproved invoices
  • Timely closure of purchase ledger at month end in accordance with management accounts deadline
  • Formal monthly review of aged creditors with accountant, as appropriate
  • Management and creation of new supplier accounts and master creditors in accordance with group policy
  • Produce manual cheques when required and immediately post on the system
  • Updating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets
ProfileThe successful Gateshead based Accounts Payable Supervisor will;
  • Have previous supervision or team lead experience
  • Have a strong Accounts Payable background
  • Have previously worked in a high volume role, including a part manual process
  • Be happy commuting to the Gateshead based office
  • Be IT and Microsoft Office literate
