Job Description

THE POSITION:Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in the Taunton area, full-time, on a long-term basis.We are looking for someone with experience to work closely with a child with SEN in a year 1 class. The opportunity is full-time and long-term and will be supporting the child on an ongoing basis.For this position as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be required to provide 1:1 support to a student and also provide general support to other students in the classroom where necessary. The successful applicant will have considerable experience working1:1 with children with special educational needs and challenging behaviour and will have ideally hold relevant SEND qualifications and training.You must hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new one to be considered for this position.Interviews will be conducted imminently, so please call or email a copy of your CV to be considered.Prospero Teaching now provide free Team Teach training to all new Teaching Support staff.   • Location: Taunton
  • Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Contract: temporary to permanent (long-term)
  • Hours: full-time, 8.30am - 3.30pm
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Pay Rate: £75-£85 per day
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (ideally in an SEN setting)
  • Experience working with children with ASD
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the capability to engage with students
  • Resilient, charismatic and compassionate
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year - Prospero can provide this
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional references
