Job SummaryIntegrated Pathology Partnerships ("iPP")/ SYNLAB UK operate theSouthwest Pathology Services contract ("SPS") part of the joint venture betweenYeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and Integrated Pathology Partnerships Ltd.iPP is a fast growing, commercially effective, UK company dedicated to enabling UK healthcare organisations to strengthen the delivery and efficiency of high quality pathology services to patients, partnering with the NHS and numerous private healthcare companiesWe are currently looking to expand our team for the SPS contract and seek enthusiastic HCPC Registered Specialist Biomedical Scientists. Roles available operate within a multi-disciplined environment; (Blood Transfusion, Haematology and Biochemistry) and applications are sought from self-motivated candidates who can offer experience in the following:

  • Greater than 2 years post HCPC registration experience of working in a biomedical laboratory at post graduate level ideally with cross disciplinary experience, with good current working knowledge of automated techniques and practices in Biochemistry/Haematology/ Coagulation and Blood Transfusion.
  • Blood Transfusion experience would be an advantage, but we also welcome applications from candidates with Biochemistry or Haematology experience who are looking to expand their knowledge and skill base.
  • Our laboratories are CPA, MHRA and CQC accredited and approved for IBMS Training.
  • This is an opportunity to progress your Biomedical Science education/knowledge and skills with support available for IBMS expert practice/Higher Specialist Diploma, other post graduate qualifications including MSc and first level management training.
  • The successful candidate(s) dependent on experience would operate across either of our Essential Service Laboratories (ESL’s) at Musgrove Park Hospital or Yeovil District Hospital that operate a 24/7 service. The hospital laboratories (ESL’s) operate various shifts patterns to include extended day, night shifts (team or lone working dependent on site) and weekend working.
