Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated nurse or Research Nurse, with excellent planning and organisational skills to join the Research Team at Somerset Foundation NHS Trust (SFT).Do you want to work for a trust that is passionate about research and dedicated to improving healthcare The SFT is a research active Trust. The research teams and R&D are committed to improving healthcare services by promoting and supporting a wide range of high quality research.What does the role involve

  • The role will involves setting up and coordinating research studies, with emphasis on Stroke and DENDRON studies, but with potential to work across other areas as the service requires.
  • You will be delivering on key objectives and developing research capacity within the trust’s Research and Development department.
  • You will recruit patients into studies and be responsible for all aspects or enrolment and data collection, with the necessary support and guidance.
  • You will work collaboratively with the clinical studies team and the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in the management of clinical trials.
  • There will need to be flexibility within the areas of work to support the Research department as a whole and requirements of the Trust.
  • The post holder will be supported by the wider research team but needs to demonstrate the ability to manage own work load and provide cover and support for other team members.
