Job Description

The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for a customer focused and mechanically minded candidate to join Jewson, Tauntonas a Mechanical Fitter. This role is a full time, permanent position in which the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the Tool Hire department. This is a varied role dealing with customers,solving problems and managing the Tool Hire Assistant.What will I be doingOur Mechanical Fitterss are essential within the branch network, you will build relationships with customers and understand their wider requirements in order to maximise sales growth. You will be in regular contact with our customers andtherefore you play a huge part in delivering a fantastic customer experience. In order to support our customers and deliver a great service you will;

  • Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions in line with our Jewson Values
  • Supervising a small team to ensure that great relationships are developed with new and existing customers, understanding their needs and providing proactive advice and solutions so that you can deliver the best experience possible
  • Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise tool hire delivery and collection, keeping customers updated throughout their journey
  • Collaborate with the wider network to support Customer requirements and business activities
  • Get to know the local market to support plans for sales growth
  • You may be occasionally required to carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of our tool hire equipment in the workshop
As this role has a strong focus within our Tool Hire part of the business, we are looking for someone that loves to build relationships by helping our customers find the right tools they need and is able to generate sales both face to face and over the phone.Industry experience is not essential but some mechanical knowledge would be preferable.Key Requirements
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • Background with knowledge of or an interest in tools / engineering
  • Supervisory or team lead experience
