Job Description

Housing Management Officer (Female Only)Location: Taunton, SomersetSalary: £23,240 per annumHours: 37.5 hours per week, 9 am - 5 pmOn-call duties (1 in 4 weeks), with an additional £100/week compensationCovering 9 properties across SomersetOur client is a compassionate charity dedicated to transforming the lives of the most vulnerable individuals in society. With a focus on projects that tackle homelessness, employment challenges, and domestic abuse, they make a meaningful impact on thousandsof lives each year.As a Housing Management Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a high standard of housing management across 9 properties. This exciting position involves minimising voids, ensuring effective rent and service account maintenance, and collaboratingclosely with the refuge team to address rent arrears and charges. Your efforts will contribute to creating a supportive environment that fosters financial management and savings.Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high standards of housing management in accordance with policies, with a focus on Health and Safety
  • Prepare rooms for intakes efficiently, including tasks such as clearing and cleaning rooms.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive stock inventory, liaising with the Service Manager to address low stock levels
  • Test and record fire alarms weekly, and conduct monthly Fire and Health and Safety checks in line with policies
  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date rent and service charge accounts, taking relevant action in accordance with procedures
Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (business insurance required for roles involving travel to work).
  • Experience working as part of a team in a social or health care setting.
  • Previous experience with survivors of domestic abuse or homeless and/or other socially excluded people is desirable.
