Job Description

Ref: 14722Finance AssistantTaunton£27,500 DOE + Excellent BenefitsOur client, a leading South West based organisation, is actively seeking a Finance Assistant to join them on a permanent basis.Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting and managing aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for the company. Your tasks will include cash posting, credit control, sales ledger administration, supplier invoicevalidation and payment, purchase ledger administration, and query resolution.Responsibilities:

  • Sales/Purchase Ledger Admin: Recordkeeping, invoicing, resolving queries, validating bank details, and submitting workflows.
  • Cash Posting: Accurate cash receipt posting and payment allocation.
  • Credit Control: Proactively contact customers for payment dates, chase overdue payments, manage refunds, and issue final demand letters.
  • Supplier Invoice Validation: Validate invoices, handle queries, and monitor AP email boxes.
  • Supplier Payment: Ensure efficient BACS payments, manage Direct Debits, and process ad hoc payments.
  • Query Resolution: Identify and resolve unallocated cash, investigate payment queries, and communicate with customers.
  • Overall: Achieve targets, attend meetings, provide feedback, prioritize workload, and offer holiday cover.
Candidate:
  • The ideal candidate should understand sales ledger, purchase ledger, and basic administration processes.
  • Previous experience in a financial role, preferable with in either an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable team.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
