Job Description

As a .NET Principal Developer you will be leading the team in aligning the Data Platform technology stack with the wider office. You will also be providing expert C# / .NET guidance to the team through pair programming, peer review, and team talks.Client DetailsMy client operates within the public sector industry and is based in Taunton. However, this role is fully-remote and you are only expected to travel to the site when required to.DescriptionMy Taunton based public sector client is looking for a .NET Principal Developer to engage in:

  • Owning the technical direction of the Internal Platform
  • Lead the team in aligning the Internal Platform technology stack with the wider office
  • Assist the Lead Developer, Solution Architect, and Product Owner to set and deliver a road-map of technical and function improvements to the Data Platform
  • Provide expert C# / .NET guidance to the team through pair programming, peer review, and team talks
This is because my client is looking to add additional capabilities and slowly migrate technologies used to C# / .NET from the original Java technology stack.ProfileTo be considered for this .NET Principal Developer at my Taunton based public sector client, the candidate must present evidence of the following:Essentials
  • SC level clearance is required
  • (3+ years) of working in a lead or principal software development role at the enterprise-level with a proven track record of successful project delivery
  • Strong experience of C# and .NET
  • Experience of containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of developing using public cloud, ideally Microsoft Azure and Terraform
  • Exposure to SQL and database design
  • Experience of building automated regression testing as well as unit testing and TDD
  • Being proficient in one or more scripting languages (e.g. powershell)
Desirables
  • Experience of Continuous Delivery and Automated Deployment environment using tools such as Azure DevOps and Flux
  • Experience of developing in Java, or migrating Java applications to C#
  • Experience of consumer driven contract testing
  • Experience of Angular SPA development
Job OfferA successful candidate will receive up to £850 per day Inside IR35 for a minimum 6 month contract with the likelihood of an extension while working fully remote.
