Five Education are working with a school in Taunton, Somerset. We are recruiting a Teacher to deliver content to young people who have Autism and/or SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs. Some of the students will have additional needs includingchallenging behaviour and SpLD (ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia). This role is due to start ASAP and is likely to be ongoing, at least until the next half term. The school are looking for candidates who have experience supporting children and/or young people with SEND, ideally Autism and SEMH. The pupils highly benefit from being at the school. In some cases, their attendance to school dramatically improves their lifechances and the choices they make for their future. You will join a dedicated and motivated staff team. The school will consider people at the start of their teaching career. They are also interested in hearing from those who have transferable skills fromother similar industries. Candidates who have been working towards obtaining teacher training qualifications will be considered, as well as experienced teachers. You may be an experienced facilitator/ instructor or someone who has worked as a HLTA. Experience of SEMH/ SEND is desirable, but the right person will benefit from training and CPD opportunities. You will be eager to develop your pedagogy by learning moreabout how ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) impact upon pupils. Teaching materials and resources are provided. However, the school encourage individuality; therefore you are welcome to adapt learning materials to make your lessons more accessible and engaging. The successful candidate will benefit from a pay rate dependent on experience.
