Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery With Special Interest In Head and Neck Skin CancerMusgrove Park Hospital in Taunton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Oral and Maxillofacial Consultant Surgeon to join our four existing OMFS colleagues based at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton, Somerset.The successful candidate would be expected to have a special interest in the comprehensive surgical management of skin cancers of the head and neck and be willing to take on a leadership role, as part of the wider Multi-disciplinary skin cancer team for Somerset. In addition the successful applicant will also work as the supporting surgeon to the existing local Head and Neck cancer team providing both surgical and clinical services to the local Head and Neck Multi-disciplinary team within Somerset. There may also be the opportunity to develop further specialist interest in areas such as salivary gland disease and temporomandibular joint disease. We can offer you the opportunity to do something you love and pursue your career.The Maxillofacial Surgery Unit for Somerset is based in Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton providing countywide services to a rapidly expanding population of over 500,000 people. Whilst the In Patient services are based in the central unit in Tauton, the department also provides clinics and day surgery service across multiple sites within Somerset including Yeovil, Minehead and Bridgwater. At present the Maxillofacial Surgical Dermatology Service treats in excess of 500 skin cancer cases per year and has a dedicated maxillofacial head and neck skin cancer specialist nurse supporting the maxillofacial clinicians. There is a 1:5 weekday on call commitment with a weekend 1:7 on call rota shared with our neighbouring unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital.Musgrove hospital is situated in Taunton, in the middle of Somerset. It has on-site parking and has excellent transport links.
