Job Description

Meridian Business Support are recruitingforCNC machinistswith experience in setting and operatingCNC machines to join the team of a large, prestigious employer at their clean, modern premises in Tauntonon apermanentbasis.The CNC Machinist position offers a varied role where you will be setting and operating machines working on an alternating shift. This is anexcellent opportunities for a CNC Machinists who is looking for on the job training, technical development and plentyof overtime opportunities to join our award winning client who are continuing to expand and grow their business.The Role for CNC Machinist:

  • Establishing productive working relationships with engineering, planning, design teams to maintain customary liaison.
  • Ensuring that strong and efficient teamwork culture exists within the production team.
  • Implementing project schedules and plans in a timely effective manner.
  • Identifying risk mitigation actions and risks.
  • Analyse production processes and propose improvements to reduce lead time, reduce cost.
  • Assist with CAPA/NCR investigations to improve efficiency of manufacturing processes.
The person:
  • Basic knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
  • Ability to use CAD/CAM at higher level, and edit CNC programmes
  • Understanding of geometrical tolerances.
  • Ability to resolve problems
  • Understand the concept of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and TQM and TPM & SixSigma.
  • Ability to interpret complex mechanical technical drawings.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
