Job Description

Kennedys is looking for a Claims Administrator to join the Claims Handling team based in Taunton and Bristol.This role is a fantastic opportunity if you are looking for your first role in Claims Handling, whether you have just completed A Levels or equivalent, or have worked in an Insurance environment and are interested in Claims Handling as your next career step.TeamKennedys Claims Handling Team acts for more than 50 insurers in relation to professional indemnity claims for surveyors, architects, engineers, accountants, solicitors and other professionals as well as Directors & Officers and Financial Institution Insurers.Clients

Cases
  • Defending professional indemnity claims against solicitors, barristers, accountants and insurance brokers
  • Defending professional indemnity claims against all constructions professional including architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and project managers, including delay and overspend claims
  • Defending over-valuation claims as a result of the credit crunch and in particular aspects of fraud. (Buy-to-lets, multimillion pound over valuations of both domestic and commercial properties)
  • Advising on coverage and policy issues. Third party property claims
  • Significant experience in alternative dispute resolution including mediation and adjudication
  • Defending D&O and employment claims against charities and schools
Required experience
  • A-levels or equivalent - English or Maths (A-C Grades) would be ideal but are not essential
  • CII Foundation qualification would be ideal, but not essential
  • Some administrative experience gained in a professional environment
  • Familiarity with following standard processes, procedures and systems within a work environment
  • Computer literacy, use of IT systems and programmes, preferably within a work
  • Proficient on Excel spreadsheets and Word (Office 10)
  • Liaison with clients, provision of customer service
  • Any experience gained within the insurance market or an insurance law firm or a professional services firm
  • A team player
  • This list is non-exhaustive and the role requires carrying out reasonable instructions from the team supervisor.
