Could you deliver content to a small group of pupils that have struggled at school Have you supported children with mental health needs in a school or care setting previously Are you kind and compassionate, as well as motivating and engagingFive Education is working with an alternative provision school in Taunton, Somerset. The school require a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism and some challenging behaviour due to AdverseChildhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma. The school provides children with another opportunity to achieve in education. The pupils are following a bespoke curriculum that is tailored to their needs. The right candidate will have had experience with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs and beconfident in helping children to self-regulate and utilise coping mechanisms. Some of the pupils receive therapeutic support to enable them to engage at school. The chosen candidate will be following a trauma-informed practice model. The successful candidate will benefit from working in a school where children are at the core of all decisions. The school want to provide the right person with all the skills needed to be effective in the role therefore training and tailored support will beprovided.
