Job Description

Project EngineerAre you skilled on 2D AutoCAD Have you worked within a CNC programming environment Are you an excellent communicator Naturally organised with a flair for design Then, this is for you!This is what you’ll be doing This is a project engineer role, where you will be at the core of the project from brief to completion, managing the following tasks:

  • Managing all engineers work to a fitter’s schedule that determines the workload in a given week.
  • Per week Engineers will need to run individual projects from start to completion.
  • Draw projects using AutoCAD or in house drawing package, depending on complexity.
  • Request any materials that are non-standard from purchasing. This could be anything from a façade finish or board type to ironmongery.
  • Log down and seek (from estimating) any changes to the original order value following a site survey. Issue cost variation in some case’s to client.
  • Liaise with the customer to obtain drawing approval.
  • Produce a cutting/ manufacturing list and issue to the factory.
  • Amend or create cnc programs using xiolog (drills) and Cadman (punch) if required. (Training scheme to be introduced to bring all Engineers up to the required level)
  • Aid fitters with technical support if required during installation.
  • Log down any snags following installation and issue to production accordingly.
  • Phone fitters to get a clear view of how specific installations went and how we could improve any aspects moving forward.
  • We are often required to do preliminary drawings at quote stage to firm up orders.
  • Spares orders to be taken off and issued to production.
  • Fitters packs to be compiled for every job issued.
    • The experience you’ll bring to the team
  • 2D CAD experience
  • CNC programming experience, can be taught, but would be advantageous!
  • Previous experience working within a project-based environment
  • Excellent communication skills.
    • And this is what you’ll get in return Up to £25,000 per annum, dependant on skills and experience.
