Job Description

Tool MakerWe are recruiting for a Tool Maker to join our Tamworth based client. This rapidly growing business is looking to extend their dedicated, focused, and motivated team.As a Tool Maker you will need to have/be:

  • Ensuring that company and legislated Health and Safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Able to interface with internal customers (discuss requirements and resolve issues).
  • Pro-active with a "can do" attitude and ability to work on own initiative
Details:
  • Salary: £32,214 to £34,500
  • Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 0700-1630 & Friday 0700-1200
  • Location: Tamworth
  • Duration: Permanent
Role of Tool Maker:To have experienced knowledge of progression tooling which are then used in the manufacturing production process to make our construction products.
  • To read engineering drawings to produce parts required using Lathes & drills, milling machines, grinding machines
  • To conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet the specifications; make adjustments as necessary.
  • Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders (WEDM machines optional)
  • Be able to measure finished parts to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.
  • Repair and maintain press tools, die repairs
  • Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve at the press with minimal downtime to aid production
  • Undertake special projects as required
  • Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
  • Prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required to meet business needs.
