Enviromental and Sustainability Manager - LogisticsTamworth£40,000As an Environment and Sustainability Manager/ Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, you will ensure that the organisation is operating in accordance within legal guidelines and targets. Your role will involve examining corporate activities to determine where improvements can be made and ensuring compliance with both environmental and dangerous goods legislation across the logistics organisation.You will also create, implement, and monitor environmental strategies to promote sustainable development. Your wide remit means you will review the whole operation, carrying out audits and assessments, identifying and resolving problems and ensuring necessary changes are implemented.You will also provide advice to undertakings whose activities include the consignment, carriage, or the related packing, loading, filling, or unloading of dangerous goods, to monitor compliance with legal requirements.Key Responsibilities:* Create and implement environmental policies and act as champion for environmental issues within the Logistics organisation* Be responsible for devising environmental and sustainability strategies that deliver best practice* Ensure that all environmental processes are developed and kept up to date against industry requirements* Manage the compliance with legislation governing the identification, packaging, and marking of dangerous goods for transport maintaining currency in IATA, IMDG, ADR.* Manage any operations involved in the storage and transport of dangerous goods through the facility* Liaise with regulatory bodies such as the environment agency* Work to deliver exceptional performance across key metrics and KPI measures in line with* functional and organisational goals and objectives* Drive a continuous improvement culture to achieve optimal performance.Essential: * Working Knowledge of relevant Legislation and standards* Relevant professional qualifications, e.g. IEMA* Environmental management* Current DGSA qualification, all categories. * Strong level of experience in a DGSA role. * Previous experience in an operational environment with proven knowledge of * Experience of working with IATA / IMDG.* Hold full UK driving licence and willing to travel as required.Recruiting a similar roleBis Henderson work with businesses to hire professionals on a permanent and interim basis across professional, management and executive roles.Specialising in Supply Chain recruitment, Logistics recruitment, Procurement recruitment and eCommerce recruitment, we deliver candidates that meet your objectives - every time.For more information please call .Bis Henderson Recruitment is a leading provider of recruitment, interim management and consultancy services to the supply chain and logistics industry.
