Job description**HOT NEW JOB OF THE WEEK****PERMANENT DESPATCH OPERATIVE REQUIRED**Pertemps are delighted to be supporting our long-standing client based in Tamworth who due to growth is recruiting for a Despatch Operative. Previous experience working in a similar role, computer literate able to multi task coupled with excellent communicationskills. If this is you we would love to hear from you!

  • Essential Experience:
Similar role for a minimum of 2 years, must be able to multi-task, communicate effectively and provide the highest levelof service to internal and external customers and suppliers.Computer literacy is a must, Windows, Word, Excel and Outlookat a basic understanding.Duties include:-Supporting the Despatch Co-ordinator with all duties.Including:-Creating warehouse picks for same day despatch orders -Picking orders from the warehouse as list produced / given by Warehouse Manager-Packing all equipment picked using suitable materials to ensure safe transit to the customer, and minimising volume created. (Feedback on improvement of suitable packing)-Suitable labelling of equipment when required (Should be completed during receipt stage).-Taking full record of items shipped including photographs-Print off despatch notes from system.-Booking freight either online or via telephone for all daily despatch within the UK and sometimes overseas.-Booking deliveries in with customers (Mainly pallets). -Chasing PODS on request.-All of the above for Service/Repaired equipment orders. Packaging becomes more critical.-Keeping Warehouse / perimeter clean and tidy. -Updating storeman of any issues so they can be resolved quickly.-Other Adhoc dutiesMaintenance of the building. Specific tasks allocated are maintain forklift, carry out fire testing/flick tests, visual checks of fire escapes / routes. All other duties allocated.-Receiving purchase orders on the inventory system, checking correct qty and locating correctly within location and bin number.-Locating the stock items (Main and spares equipment) physically in the correct location in the warehousewith labels where required.-Stock taking. Regular monthly, bi-monthly stock taking to ensure quantities held in stock are correct and located in the correct bin.-Unloading of all incoming shipments/deliveries from suppliers either manually handling or with use of pallet / forklift truck-Handling all local collections /deliveries in company vehicle, predominantly from Fabrication dept. Occasional longer journeys to deliver parts to engineers on site (around UK) or collect items as requested.In return you will receive a salary of £21000 per annum plus 26 days holidayWorking hours Monday to Friday 8.30-5pm, 30 minute lunch break, 4pm finish on a Friday
