Job Description

A new opportunity for a Carpenter has opened up at PCE due to requirements for on-site shuttering works and off-site creation of shutters across our project sites.PCE is the market leader in precast concrete and hybrid structures, based on the principles of design for manufacture and assembly, DfMA.Summary

  • LocationThe Carpenter will be based across our nationwide project locations, therefore applicants applying must be flexible with working away from home and must be able to work independently and safely.Essential requirements for the role:
  • Previous carpentry work experience including experience on-site shuttering works and off-site creation of shutters across
  • Valid Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • Desirable requirements for the role:
  • NVQ in Carpentry
  • IPAF 3a/b training
  • Temporary works training
  • Any further H&S/Construction training
  • Responsibilities:Onsite carpentry / shuttering
  • Onsite creation and application of shuttering works to allow programmed works to continue
  • Safe working practices to be followed at all times and good housekeeping of work area
  • Responsible and accountable for all own tooling, vehicle used for job
  • Responsible for stock control of van for essential consumable items needed to complete job in case of site shortage
  • IPAF certified to enable use off access equipment safely
  • Weekly PUWER checks of all power tools
  • Working in line with Temp Works requirements of all projects to ensure safe project delivery. Items such as hole covers / temp steps ect. All items made need to be in line with approved drawings and calcs.
  • Off-site carpentry works
  • Cutting and assembling of shuttering requirements for projects
  • Working to a cutting list created by project and assembly to drawing standards
  • Creating of shutters in line with program to ensure site needs are met
  • Safety
  • Responsible for own Health and Safety both on site and in the stores. Ensuring that all operatives, inclusive of yourself, are working safely in line with RAMS
  • Ensure all visitors to stores abide by the H&S rules of the stores area and wear appropriate PPE
  • Ensure all fire escape routes within stores are maintained correctly
  • All pre use checks and COSHH are controlled correctly
  • Responsible for personal Health and Safety at all times on both site and within stores and to work in line with site / task specific RAMS
  • General duties
  • Responsible for keeping warehouse/stores clean and tidy inside.
  • Ensure building is secure and safe at all times.
  • Ownership and responsibility of PCE equipment / tools / vans
  • Always promote the Company in a professional manner
  • Responsible for stock control levels of consumables needed for task and ordering of stock from Stores
  • All other reasonable duties as required by the Company
