My client is a well respected privately owned concern operating within the Construction and Manufacturing Sector ideally located in close to Tamworth and therefore easily commutable from both East and West Midlands.As part of the companies continued expansion, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Assistant Management Accountant.Reporting directly to the Management Accountant this person will assist with preparing the management accounts pack and day to day transactional work. The Assistant Management Accountant will need to work collaboratively with a number of team members in finance and the wider team. The role requires someone who can apply a high level of attention to quality and detail to minimise mistakes. Work closely with and provide cover for the Management Accountant during holidays Manage the collection of debtors Carry out bank reconciliations Processing of the VAT returns Responsible for the timely cashflow actualising, forecasting and reporting Producing the payroll hours from Timenet and submitting to the Payroll Administrator Producing the weekly KPIs Manage the Sage database (maintenance of customers and suppliers) Produce journals and aid in the production of balance sheet reconciliations Maintain and develop the gross margin report Assist with the quarterly and the annual stock take Supporting with the year-end process Support business profitability and growth through findings and recommendations Take on ad hoc projects to support the introduction of new processes and systems A pro-active approach with the ability to work autonomously and organise their time effectively Excellent attention to detail The ability to challenge and suggest improvements to processes Awareness of the importance of confidentiality and compliance with Finance protocols The ability to work effectively with/alongside non-finance professionals and other parts of the business Committed to their own continuing professional development, being fully conversant and up to date with relevant legislation and best practice Proficient in the use of all MS Office applications, finance systems (experience with Sage desirable) and digital communications Excel skills up to VLOOKUP/SUMIFs level
