Job Description

Job Title:Plumber / Mechanical OperativeJob reference:J60910We are currently recruiting for aPlumber / Mechanical Operative within a leading Healthcare NHS Trust in the Greater Manchesterarea. This is a key role within the trust and will be an on-going positionDuties will include:Responsible for undertaking planned maintenance, breakdown repairs and new installation work on healthcare premises on a variety of building services related systems including;- Energy generating plant including boiler plant (steam & LPHW)- DHWS & CWS systems- Air compressors- Laundry and catering equipment- Drainage/sewerage and Ventilation plant- Air conditioning and refrigeration- BMS control systems- Electrical building services

  • Accountable for Fault finding and repair of plant and equipment
  • Undertake Condition Surveys of Mechanical Systems and Mechanical Infrastructure within Healthcare Facilities
  • Understand, Diagnose and repair faults on complex Mechanical system. Including Mechanical distribution systems, Mechanical Infrastructure, Engineering Plant and equipment
As part of flexible working, all staff shall be required to support the winter maintenance teams during winter periods that have the potential to impact on business continuity. This will involve assisting the winter maintenance teams in clearing car parksand access roads / footpaths so service users staff and visitors can access their servicesEssential skills / qualifications:
  • Mechanical Apprenticeship
  • Previous experience in hospitals/NHS would be desirable
  • Specialist knowledge in technical developments in estates maintenance
  • Full UK driving licenceTransport needed
  • Standard DBS will be carried out on all successful candidates
