Are you a Yard Controller with experience of managing Drivers A well established and growing veterinary wholesaler has huge opportunities at their site inStoke on Trent (ST7).This is a permanent role with a salary of£21,840 per annum plus 28 days holiday, discounted gym membership, Death in Service Benefit, Healthcare Cash Plan, Canteen, Onsite Parking and Full Training.Shifts Available: MondayFriday 12pm9pm NO WEEKEND WORKING!AsYard Controller you will be reporting to the Transport Manager with responsibility of 25 Drivers. Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operation of the Yard and ensuring all Health and Safety requirements are met by all yard users.The role involves managing the unloading of returning vehicles and control allocated bays, controlling, and reporting on returning goods including Supplier Collections, Stock Transfers, Customer Returns, Depot Returns.You will manage the gatehouse, provide emergency driver cover when needed and be responsible for all returning paperwork from the depots. In addition, you will support the management of the onsite fleet along with management of vehicle movements required formaintenance work and record all maintenance work on fleet accruals sheet as and when required. This is a hands on role involving the organisation and cleaning of the yard along with unloading of vehicles.We are keen to hear from applicants with strong people management experience within a warehouse/ transport/ logistics or yard environment. Extensive knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work is required.
