Job Description

Mental Health - Intervention - Pastoral - Learning Support Assistant - SEMH Are you looking for a role where you can support the mental health of young people A well-respected specialist school near Tadworth is looking for an Intervention and Pastoral Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The students range between 5-13 years old, and face a range of trauma and diagnoses,including:

  • ASD
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Self-harm and suicide ideation
  • Attachment difficulties
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Dyslexia and dyspraxia
The students therefore need an Intervention and Pastoral Assistant who will be a consistent role model, committed to building strong relationships, is empathetic, up for a challenge and committed to building essential life skills and minimising the riskof negative outcomes!The ideal Intervention and Pastoral Assistant must be open-minded, resilient, and have an understanding of mental health. The perfect candidate will have experience with SEN children and/or adults in any setting. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology or Counsellingwould also be perfect for this position.If you are looking to kick-start your career in Psychology, Mental Health or Education, then this Intervention and Pastoral Assistant role is the perfect opportunity for you.
