Job Description

Team Leader - Children and Young People Swansea £24,705We are working in partnership with a much valued client who provides residential care to children and young people based in Swasnea.This is a full time position working 39 hours a week, including 1 sleep in per week and being on call once a month. Any additional on call, sleep ins and hours are paid as over time on top of your salary.Children and young People who reside in the service often display challenging behaviours triggered by their past trauma and backgrounds. A key area of the role for staff to be able to effectively support young people is to gain a sound understanding of thechild or young person in order to provide effective strategies in managing these behaviours. All staff must adopt and utilise out therapeutic model of care.Within this role you will be supporting the manager where needed to lead team meetings, staff de-briefs, supervisions, keeping the training matrix up-to date, ensuring all staff complete their AWIF and SCW registration within 6 months of employment, completestaff inductions, update risk assessments, check and send off incident reports to social workers, mentor senior staff members and attend grievance meetings where needed.You will work with the manager in relation to safeguarding children which will be used and recorded in personal care plans. Recording in young peoples folders will be added to clear care.Experience and Qualifications Required;

  • Evidence of ability to deal with varying & complex needs
  • Ability to prioritise, work on own initiative and be part of a team
  • QCF Level 3 Health and Social Care Children and Young People
  • Ability to take part in on-call rota
