Job Description

Our service in central Swansea provides support and care to 6 adults with complex and physical needs enabling them to establish a stable home and full participation in the community. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated support workers to join usto help our clients thrive in their everyday lives.Our project is a group of six flats housing adults with learning disabilities in central Swansea, just a short walk from the train station. Our staff are based in the scheme 24 hours a day where they play a significant role in supporting our clients to overcomeany challenges that they may encounter and help them to live as independently as possible.Pobl means People and people really are at the heart of everything we do. We support some truly amazing people to live positive, independent lives in their own home and help get them where they want to be in life.Whats Great About the RoleYou will contribute to enabling people to set, develop and achieve their goals, which is highly rewarding.You will be involved in all aspects of day to day support for our clients, including;

  • Administering medication
  • Meal preparation
  • Laundry and cleaning
  • Support with personal care
  • Accompanying them on shopping trips
  • Supporting to maintain relationships with friends and family
  • Accompanying to swimming, cinema and days out
For full details of the role and skills required please see the Role Profile document belowWho are we looking forExperience of working with people with learning disabilities or physical disabilities is not essential as you will benefit from full training and support from your team and management.More important to us are your listening skills, empathy, a genuine desire to make a difference and live our values to be Positive, Considerate and Connected.Youll also need to be a driver, as you may be occasionally required to work in other services in Swansea and to drive for some of the duties of the role.Key informationThere are full time or part time opportunities.Rate of pay: £19,336 full time salary or £10.05 per hourThere are various daytime shift times and sleep ins.For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.To work in this role you will need to be registered with Social Care Wales.
