(SLCN) which includes working with pupils with Developmental Language Disorders, social communication difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role is part-time for four days per week (0.8FTE) but is a permanent contract on teachers pay and conditions.The Additional Learning Needs Inclusion Team in Swansea is a highly skilled team of Specialist Teachers who work alongside colleagues from the Speech and Language Therapy Team within Swansea Bay University Health Board to provide support for pupils in mainstream primary and secondary age schools. The role will involve supporting pupils with SLCN and ASD in schools, supporting ALNCos and wider school staff to understand their specific needs but also providing training as qualified and experienced to do so.It is an exciting time to join the team with many developments and changes afoot in how support is provided to children and young people, schools and parents/carers. Applicants should understand the current legal requirements of the Code of Practice, Wales 2002 but be up to date with developments and legislation in relation to the forthcoming Additional Learning Needs Educational Tribunal Act Wales 2018.An ability to work in a sensitive, professional manner with a degree of independence, flexibility and IT skills essential.A full driving licence and the ability to travel between schools in a car is an essential part of the post.
