Job Description

Menzies Distribution are currently hiring for Self Employed Van Drivers to work out of our depot in SwanseaWhat you want to know:

  • Days of work: Monday to Friday (every other weekend required with 2 days off in the week)
  • Hours of work: 2AM working 7.5 hours a day
  • Pay: £180 to £200 a day
Self Employed Driver requirements:
  • 3.5t vehicle required(transit or similar) with business insurance.
  • 7 day contractors. Contractor holder must be able to substitute themselves with a relief driver when unable to operate the route themselves. Hours 3.30am to circa 1.30pm.
  • Job entails carrying out a Newspaper delivery round then returning to depot to reload and carry out a parcel delivery round Monday to Friday and News run only on Saturday and Sunday
  • Goods In Transit Insurance
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • Hire and Reward Insurance
  • No previous disqualifications NI, DD or DR
If you do not currently own or have access to a 3.5-tonne vehicle (Transit or similar) you must be in a financial position to be able to lease or purchase one. You will also need to have all insurances (Goods in Transit, Public Liability & Hireand Reward) in place prior to starting.Financial considerations you will need to be aware of include:
  1. Van Deposit
  2. First Months Rental
  3. Commercial Insurances
