Job Description

Mechanic / Motor Vehicle Technician who is a Level 3 motor technician or equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification is required for a busy workshop for a franchised car dealership based in Swansea, Wales.SALARY: £28,000 - £30,000 per annumLOCATION: Swansea, WalesJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Mechanic / Motor Vehicle Technician who is a Level 3 motor technician or equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification.Working as the Mechanic / Motor Vehicle Technician you will join a well-established family run, franchised car dealership that has operated in Swansea since 1986.As the Mechanic / Motor Vehicle Technician your responsibilities and duties will involve:

  • Service, repair and general vehicle maintenance work
  • Carrying out diagnostic tests to highlight any problems with the car’s engine, transmission, exhaust system, brakes and other major components
  • Road testing vehicles to ensure the repairs have been successful
  • Perform MOT Tests (if qualified)
    • As a successful candidate you will have an excellent opportunity to work in a growing and busy workshop environment within a great team. The company is also offering the possibility of promotion to a Workshop Controller position for the right candidate.CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTSAs the Mechanic / Motor Vehicle Technician you will have the following skills and experience:
  • Level 3 Motor Technician or equivalent NVQ Level 3 (Essential)
  • Experience of working within a franchised dealer is beneficial
  • Level 3 Electric, Hybrid and self-charging experience would be extremely desirable
  • Additional Car Manufacturer Training will be provided
  • Certified MOT Tester (Desirable, although not essential)
