Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Analytical Team Member for an immediate start ongoing temporary assignment based in Swansea.Working within the Analytical Services Department you will conduct a variety of routine technical, logistical and support tasks underpinning the analytical operation of the laboratory.Day to day activities will primarily be the early morning reception and registration of samples for analysis as well as receiving and preparing orders for consumables for dispatch across Wales.Key Job Accountabilities: -

  • Conduct daily sample registration onto the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Import sample point data end enter results onto LIMS
  • Organise and dispatch samples to be outsourced
  • Preparing sample containers for re-use; ensuring they are clean and decontaminated
  • Manage sample bottle orders from the operational monitoring team
  • Support the provision of administrative and customer service for the analytical activities of the laboratory such as procurement ordering, taking email queries and obtaining prompt responses for customers
  • Maintain due diligence of the correct processes to maintain legal Chain of Custody for formal enforcement samples
  • Ensure a good understanding of the laboratorys Quality System and how it effects every aspect of the analytical process
Job Qualifications and Knowledge: -
  • The ability to work in a high throughput routine environment with delivery to tight deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • The ability to work either in isolation or as part of a busy team
  • High level of computer literacy with a good working knowledge of MS Office to include; Word, Excel and Outlook
Hours of work: -You will be required to work 37 hours per week Tuesday - Saturday. Shifts as follows: -
  • 7:00am - 4:00pm Tuesday to Thursday
  • 7:00am - 3:00pm Friday
  • 7:00am - 11.00am Saturday
