Job Description

  • Managing day to day planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting for operations across multiple sites.
  • Managing a team across several departments from Warehousing and Distribution
  • Continuously maintain and improve customer service whilst minimising working capital requirements.
  • Ensuring the correct use of systems throughout the function specifically NetSuite as an Oracle based system and Veeqo as an FC inventory management system.
  • Ensures timely and appropriate customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Manages KPIs successfully and produce KPI reports for senior management.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline operations and process improvements (CI projects).
  • Project management including costing and quoting.
  • Departmental capital expenditure budgets and targets.
  • Co-ordinate haulier capacity planning within the distribution function.
  • Be responsible for regional performance targets and customer satisfaction through the guiding, coaching and managing of a team of Managers.
  • Maximise deliveries and collections within the region through the successful and timely recruitment, engagement and retention of self-employed couriers.
  • Be responsible for the delivery and forecast of regional budgets; managing costs and ensuring the team understand the financial impact of their decisions.

  • Extensive experience with profound knowledge and understanding in distribution operations with increasing leadership responsibilities
  • Experience in using ERP systems
  • Strong background in Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain management
  • Understanding of external influences such as legislation, fuel costs and environmental pressures
  • Key understanding of distribution network, process and procedures
  • Have experience of managing multi-site operations
  • IT ability with knowledge of systems that support transport, distribution and warehouse management
  • Experienced & engaging team builder with expertise in developing staff at all levels.
  • Self-starter, committed and target / action focused
  • Knowledge of management principles and practices including budgeting and cost estimating
