Job Description

Vetro Housing have several exciting opportunities available and are recruiting for experienced family support workers to work on on an ongoing, long term basis within Cardiff and the surrounding areas.This is an opportunity to really make a difference to familys lives throughout the Capital that require support and assistance to gain the help required in order to live their lives in a more positive way.

  • Location: Swansea
  • Hours:Full time hours available (37.5 hours per week)
Vetro Housing have several exciting opportunities available and are recruiting for experienced family support workers to work on on an ongoing, long term basis within Cardiff and the surrounding areas.This is an opportunity to really make a difference to familys lives throughout the Capital that require support and assistance to gain the help required in order to live their lives in a more positive way.As a Family Support Worker you will hold a caseload and meet with families on a regular basis providing a range of packages of support intervention, initiating Early Help Assessments to identify the families targeted needs. The main aim of the role is to empowerthe families you will be supporting with new knowledge and skills, while also building resilience and providing essential emotional and practical support.Other key responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring that service users needs are assessed regularly, adhering to regulatory requirements and timescales, enabling individuals to learn and achieve their potential
  • Undertaking safety planning, for example within a Domestic abuse refuge / safe house environment when appropriate.
  • Carrying out risk assessments on each client and agreeing a risk management plan.
  • Using good practice in risk management and lone working.
  • To use creative ways of ensuring that service users are supported in such a way that their potential for independence is maximised and that they are enabled to achieve outcomes, which are appropriate to their needs and wishes..
  • Supporting service users in identifying and addressing key issues relating to their children and promoting positive parenting and the welfare of children/young people.
