Job Description

Emergency Response VolunteerCould you help respond to emergencies in your local area Location: Swansea, Neath Port TalbotCommitment: This service operates 24 hours/7 days per week. Volunteers are asked to do at least 2 x 6 hour shifts per week.Must attend monthly team meetings, held in the evenings, 7-9pm.Minimum Commitment of 12 months in the role.To apply for this role, volunteers must be over 18 and have a full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle.Volunteers must live within 30 minutes of British Red Cross Office, Kidwelly House, Swansea Enterprise Park SA7 9FSIn 2020 the British Red Cross turns 150. It is thanks to all our supporters and volunteers that we have been able to help people during emergencies since 1870. Our volunteers have been providing emotional and practical support to those affected during emergencies such as Aberfan, the London 7/7 bombings and more recently the Manchester Arena bombings and Grenfell fire. The Red Cross doesnt only respond to large-scale emergencies, we respond to an emergency on average every four hours ranging from house fires and floods to power cuts and water shortages. Help us continue our story by applying to volunteer with us today. What would I be doing You will be helping people prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
