Job Description

They are looking for an Assistant Manufacturing Engineering Manager to Lead the Manufacturing Engineering team whilstsupporting the operations team by developing and approving the method of manufacture. Assistant Manufacturing Engineering ManagerJob Description

  • Act as the technical authority for the business units and deputize for the MEM at plant level where required.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing methods are deployed with HSE and product safety in mind that helps drive the zero harm program.
  • Lead the Zero Defects program for the business units. Deploy Right First-Time manufacturing that forms the basis for the daily reviews.
  • Develop manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture that achieve customer requirements and are in line with the plant budget whilst liaising with the BUMs.
  • Lead the Method of Change (MOC) process for the business units whilst being supported at plant level by the MEM.
  • Create and maintain Technical Packages (SOPs, tooling, etc.) for all products within the plant. Ensure manufacturing processes are capable of meeting and continuing to meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and lead time commitments.
  • Responsible for development of the ME team through 1-2-1 conversations and individual development plans.
  • Manage 10 direct reportsManufacturing engineers across 3 units
Assistant Manufacturing Engineering ManagerEssential Experience/ Skills/ Qualifications
  • Professionally qualified Engineer (UK minimum BEng degree or other national equivalent)
  • UK CEng (Chartered Engineer) or working towards similar accreditation.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Has provided leadership to a team of engineers.
Assistant Manufacturing Engineering ManagerDesirable Experience/ Skills/ Qualifications
  • Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing supply chain is an advantage
  • Manufacturing or technical experience within metals industry
