We are working with an SEN school based in Sutton who are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to start after the half term break.The SEN Primary School provides specialist Teaching and therapy for up to 60 children aged 4 to 11 years whose primary need is Speech, Language and Communication. Some children may also have additional learning or sensory integration needs. A large percentage of pupils also have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The abilities are wide ranging, varying from pupils who meet cognitive milestones to pupils with complex needs.The successful candidate will need experience and a willingness to manage children with ASD (both verbal and lower functioning) and SLCN. You should also be experienced in developing and nurturing the play skills of young children, as well as identifying the next steps.The School are looking for someone who is resilient and able to manage challenging behaviour.The School has a warm, safe, friendly, and nurturing environment which helps children to learn, express their ideas, communicate, develop friendships and grow in confidence and self- esteem.
