Job Description

Registered General Nurse (RGN) - Adult Neuro Rehab Care - £16.43ph to £17.43ph + excellent benefits - Permanent - SurreyA recently opened care home, providing care for adults living with complex neurological conditions with long-term nursing needs, including those requiring ventilator support and tracheostomies, is looking for a Registered Genral Nurse (RGN) to join the friendlyprofessional team. They have a wonderful Home Manager, who has recently secured a good CQC rating and offer a caring, professional and empathetic service to the residents within the home.SALARY ETC:

  • £16.43ph to £17.43ph
  • It is a permanent role, and they are able to offer either a 49-hours week, which is worked as 4 x 12.25-hour shifts, or a 43-hour week, which is worked as 7 x 12.25 hour shifts over a 2-week period.
  • Start: ASAP, once pre-employment checks are carried out including a DBS, references etc.
  • Location: Banstead, Surrey (they have a free employee shuttle bus to/from the Sutton train station as well.
  • Free meals, free uniform, pension scheme, qualification and career development support.
  • Would be able to support international Nurse sas well, providing they have their IELTS, OET, CBT & UK NMC Registration.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • To be a Registered General Nurse in the UK, with the NMC.
  • Must be living in the UK, or an international Nurse, providing they have their IELTS, OET, CBT & UK NMC Registration.
  • Experience in a similar role in Adult Care / ICU and / or Neuro.
  • Understanding of NMC Code of Professional Conduct
  • Proficiency in dispensing and administrating oral medication
  • Trachea and ventilator experience if a big plus, although not essential as could train.
  • The ability of managing and prioritising conflicting workloads
  • Interest to develop knowledge of the clinical speciality and own practice
  • Able to manage patients emotional needs and demonstrate empathy and caring
  • Passionate about delivering excellent care to vulnerable adults and a desire to provide a frist class service.
  • To have a friendly, approachable and caring nature.
  • A positive attitude and good team wokring skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE:
  • Youll learn how to provide trachea and ventilator care and help staff to deliver a range of care services, including social activities.
  • Ensuring that the personal care and other health needs of Residents are met and that assigned duties are executed in a professional and caring manner giving due regard to the Homes core values and values framework and the Skills for Care Code of Conductfor Health and Social Care Workers and the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Ensuring all relevant clinical documentation is in place, reflects the current clinical and care needs of the Resident as is updated monthly, (or more often if the Residents condition changes) to ensure accurate records are maintained, in line with theHomes policies and procedures and NMC guidance on record keeping.
  • Administering prescribed medication to Residents in line with the instructions of the prescribing doctor and the Homes medication policies and procedures, and NMC guidance on the Standards of Medication Administration.
  • Monitoring the health needs of Residents to ensure appropriate escalation using the NEWs protocol to General Practitioner services or a local acute hospital as appropriate
  • Working co-operatively with colleagues in the pursuit of the responsibilities of the post, with due regard to our diversity and inclusion framework and policies.
  • Carrying out the reasonable instructions of the senior nurse in charge or management staff to ensure optimal use of resources within the Home to ensure high quality care can be delivered at all times
  • Attending rostered shifts as defined in the off-duty and to follow all HR policies and procedures in the event of being unable to attend for a rostered shift; understanding that such absence risks service levels and has the potential to compromise standardsof care.
  • Ensuring concepts learnt during mandatory training sessions, (health and safety, inflection control, core values, and fire safety - this is not an exhaustive list) are upheld and demonstrated in practice during your working shift.
  • To act at all times to uphold the CQC domains ensuring care delivered is safe, caring, effective and responsive.
  • Using the clinical governance framework and adverse event reporting procedures as per the Homes policy and procedures to identify and report any adverse events, particularly in respect of patient safety or other reportable events.
