When you join us, you’ll be part of something special – an innovative and rapidly growing organisation that is helping to redefine the Mental Health, education and social care landscape in the UK.About the team:SWLSTG MH Trust is a lead provider within the South West London Trailblazer programme and currently runs six Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) across Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth. Each MHST works within a cluster of schools and offers a schools based mental health service, as well as supporting the implementation of a whole schools approach to mental health across the cluster. The Sutton MHST is an original trailblazer team, started in January 2019 and comprises of 4 qualified EMHPs, a band 7 post (currently out to advert) and a Clinical Psychologist who is the team supervisor and coordinator. The band 7 post provides additional clinical input around challenging behaviour and emotional regulation, consultation to school staff and support within each MHST and school cluster, working closely with team members to provide a coordinated service. The Clinical Psychologist offers supervision, consultation and supports the whole school approach, in addition to providing more specialist clinical interventions. The team also have strong links with a self-harm community nurse who is attached to CAMHS but works largely in schools. The cluster includes two specialist schools and there are good opportunities for cross team learning with the other teams in Sutton, including a specialist ASD / LD MHST, a new MHST with a specialist focus around domestic abuse and a well-established CWP team.About the role:We are advertising for two qualified EMHPs (qualified CWPs are eligible to apply). Both posts are Agenda for Change band 5 full time posts working with a cluster of schools across Sutton.Postholders will work primarily with parents of primary school aged children and young people referred by secondary schools, providing low-intensity interventions for anxiety, depression or behavioural difficulties. The service also offers a wide variety of parent workshops, groups and whole class year 6 workshops as part of a whole school approach to mental health.EMHPs are supervised weekly by a Clinical Psychologist for individual supervision and also offered regular group supervision. Additional contact with supervisors or other senior staff is available throughout the week as needed to manage risk or other urgent issues. There is a strong peer support network across all the EMHPs within the Trust and in normal times there are a number of social events between all the different teams. These posts will require:
