Job Description

Are you a recent A’ level school/college leaver who is interested in an apprenticeship type role or someone on the opposite side of the spectrum who is potentially looking to slow down and seeking a role local without the pressuresIf so, my client and an award-winning financial services organisation is seeking someone with a DIY mindset to join them as a new Facilities Assistant. The role will see you being responsible for providing assistance in general support of the two Premises& Facilities function, that will include:

  • Opening and checking the two premises, including the powering up of equipment as required.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance checks of premises and equipment as required and taking remedial action as necessary.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of car parks and office property including routine garden maintenance, grass cutting and tending the flower borders.
  • Assisting with general maintenance tasks e.g., painting, light carpentry, light electrical, moving furniture, cleaning and assembly/disassembly of office equipment, shelving or other items.
  • Attending group premises at any time outside of normal office hours in the event of an emergency
  • Assisting with the daily opening, sorting and delivery of incoming mail. Assistance with postal, bank and inter-office deliveries and other messenger duties as required.
  • Ensuring that the photocopiers are supplied with paper and other consumer items as necessary and are in working order. Also carry out bulk photocopying as required.
  • Liaising with external suppliers by phone and face-to-face.
As mentioned, this is an excellent opportunity for someone just starting out in their career or someone who is looking maybe work local in a role that doesn’t come with all the pressure.Either way, my client is completely open on the type of person they want for this role, al they ask is that your someone who is:
  • Handy in terms of DIY and are able to be on your feet all day.
  • Competent in. putting things together and moving furniture etc,
  • A practical mindset and initiative
  • An awareness of DIY/fixing things
  • Be comfortable using tools, e.g. a drill
  • Happy putting things together/moving furniture etc.
  • Brings ideas and the drive to get things done.
  • IT literate (Word and Excel)
  • A competent communicator (verbal & written)
  • Comfortable searching online for solutions and placing orders.
The role is based in Epsom with the hours being 42 hours a week between 7.30am and 5.30pm and is a 100% office based.In return the role offers an attractive excellent and benefits package that includes an annual bonus, pension, generous holiday, free parking and various social events throughout the year, further information is available on application.
