Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has emerged for an Ex-Offender Resettlement Scheme Team Leader to join the housing department at one of Adeccos leading public sector clients in a temporary role for the next 3-6 months.Our client is based in Sutton in South London, but this is a hybrid role so will be a mixture of office (2 days each week) and home working (as well as being out on visits with your staff, when required). This role is for 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday)and is focused on supporting and coaching to empower the customer to prevent future homelessness and improve their health & wellbeing.Key elements of the role include:

  • Managing individual accounts within agreed budgets.
  • Being responsible for the day-to-day line management of the Ex Offenders Housing Options & Floating Support Officers, including organising and planning the work, motivating and supporting the staff member, identifying and meeting training needs etc.
  • Contributing to the recruitment, appointment and induction of staff members througheffective use of organisational policies and procedures.
  • Providing advice in such areas, but not exclusively, as security of tenure, housing rights following relationship breakdown, welfare and housing benefits, tax credits, debt counselling, housing options etc.
  • Developing and maintaining close and effective multi-agency partnership working arrangements with the probation and prison service and a wide range of other services or stakeholders, developing a robust pathway and solution focussed approach to resolvingbarriers for prisoners in accessing accommodation, with a clear focus on early intervention, and raising the profile of services available.
  • Carrying a caseload of more complex cases, taking a casework approach to meet the needs of this client group assisting them to access services, take control of their future, maximise their opportunities and prevent or relieve homelessness. This may includemaking visits to prisons, locally or further afield.
  • Developing and delivering outreach and support to professionals in key locations to achieve early intervention and prevent homelessness.
  • Taking a lead role in the development and delivery of services to Ex-Offenders including organising monthly monitoring meetings, and provision of monthly monitoring and performance reports to MHCLG.
  • Carrying out effective casework supervision and being responsible for monitoring staff performance
The successful candidate will ideally need to possess:* A proven track record in delivering advice, guidance and support in a complex environment combined with a good working knowledge of Housing legislation in particular, Part VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended).* Experience of managing or leading a team in a customer focussed service and delivering support that improves wellbeing of individuals or families.* Experience of producing and analysing management information and statistics.Only applicants who feel they meet the above criteria, are comfortable working in and around Sutton in South London, can interview in mid/late December and start on short notice (1-3 weeks notice) need apply as our client is keen to hire as soon as possiblefor this post due to a member of staff about to go on maternity leave.
