Job Description

Job Description *CleanerService Name: Hillcroome RoadLocation: SuttonSalary: £9.00 per hourHours: Monday - Friday - 15 hours per weekBenefits:

Ambient Support is a registered UK charity with over 25 years experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health need and people with a learning disability.Our Cleaners need:
  • Experience as a cleaner
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness in accordance with an agreed schedule
  • Understanding of C.O.S.H.H regulations
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and infection control
  • Commitment to promoting good practise
Our Cleaners duties will be:
  • To work under the supervision of your line manager and in conjunction with the rest of the project staff and residents in line with the objectives of the organisation.
  • To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, infection control and all aspects of the Care Standards Act, to ensure a safe and efficient cleaning service in the home.
  • To be familiar with the fire alarm system and the location of the mains switches and stopcocks.
  • To regularly clean all communal areas of the project.
  • To dispose of refuse.
  • To co-operate in meeting the cleaning requirements of the project.
  • To monitor supplies of cleaning materials and to keep project staff fully informed of any requirements.
  • To clean the rooms of clients who have moved on to other accommodation.
  • To ensure that health hazards, such as spills, are cleaned quickly and appropriate signs used.
  • To report all incidents promptly to the member of staff.
  • To ensure all equipment used is in full, safe working order, promptly reporting any faults the Project Manager.
  • To ensure all cleaning equipment are stored securely and safely.
  • To take on any other duties as reasonably required by the Project Manager.
  • Keep a weekly inventory of cleaning items used.
ABOUT SERVICEAmbient offers a range of services for people living with mental health needs ranging from 24-hour residential care and support to floating support services in the community. We are also able to provide Community Engagement & Inclusion Services which providepeople with purposeful and meaningful activity to support their recovery journey.In order to protect both our staff and the people we support, unless there are wholly exceptional reasons (which we will consider on an individual basis), it is a requirement that all new employees have a Covid-19 vaccination prior to commencing withAmbient Support, and that they continue to receive Covid-19 vaccinations as required and in accordance with public health guidance throughout their employment with us.
