Job Description

PRODUCT MANAGER - APPLICATIONS ENGINEERINGA central Midlands based technology organisation is seeking a Product Manager to join their customer interaction team and assist in the delivery of a range of smart technology to various industry sectors across the UK and Europe.As an organisation they have a proud history of leading the way in the development of safety smart tech devices, for companies that have production and manufacturing facilities with fast moving machinery or robotic equipment.Product Manager - Package:

Product Manager - Function
  • The Product Manager will be part of a team that supports the companys own internal R&D and Sales Teams by working directly with customers who are seeking bespoke innovative solutions for their production safety needs.
  • Supporting customers with the understanding and training of the latest technologies, to make them aware of the benefits of products that use physical, digital, or facial recognition to operate and provide live streams algorithms on productivity and security,whilst ensuring its main purpose of health and safety is always guaranteed.
  • The role will be key in identifying the right product or solution, or recommend a new product development exercise that tailors a device for a customers specific needs.
  • Secondary to the role is to support the internal R&D Team with requests and information of new and future requirements that may require investment into new technologies (Electronic, Software or Mechanical) and assist in the validation of these future requirementsand how they would best fit into the current products ranges.
  • The role will be head office based with some home working allowed, but there will be a need to travel to customers sites from time to time (UK and Western Europe).
  • Communication with all relevant parties and being aware of the companys technology capabilities is essential with this role, as well as having the ability and experience to explain these technologies to customers and third parties.
Product Manager - Requirements
  • This is a technically biased position that requires a high degree of knowledge of Electronic, or Mechatronic systems, so applicants should hold a formal qualification ideally a Degree in Electronic, Software or Mechanical Engineering.
  • It is important that the right applicant for this position already has some direct exposure of working with external partners or customers in providing technical biased solutions.
  • 3 years+ industry experience post qualification in an Application, Project, or Technical Sales Engineering position, where the responsibility is to directly provide technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ideally a strong understanding of machinery and hydraulics
  • Be willing to travel at short notice
  • Have a good appreciation of commercial aspects of live projects (lead times, costs and R&D, Assembly, and Installation considerations)
