Job Description

We are recruiting for aleading Air Conditioning, Combustion, Fire and Smoke Control maintenance company who are looking to hire aTechnical Manager to join their rapidly expandingteam in Redhill. This is an office based role which would suit anEngineerlooking to make that movement off the tools and into a management position. This could also sort someone with extensive technical knowledge from a compliance aspect who has worked in a similar role but does not come from anengineering background.The purpose of this role is toprovide assistance, technical support and guidance to the Service Delivery team and engineering workforce to aid with customer delivery and efficiencies on planning and workflow. You will be organising the engineers to makesure the services are completed in an efficient manner and dealing with technical queries from clients.Within this Technical Service Manager role you will be responsible for:

  • To assist with scheduling of works with the service delivery team and contract supports to enable efficient and cost effectiveness.
  • To provide technical support on all queries and quotations.
  • Offering of technical assistance and understanding to the team and customers.
  • To manage any technical / part ordering and offer guidance on alternative options.
  • To achieve proactive delivery of services across all sectors of the business and provide efficiencies with both time management and engineering productivity.
  • To assist with the recruitment of engineering staff and continued development of their skills and knowledge
  • Ownership of the WIP management including the collection of POs (including uplift), report issuing and follow up quotations.
  • Understand and completion of RAMS for all planned and reactive works.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety.
  • To be part of the management call out rota support outside of normal working hours.
For this varied Technical Service Manager role we are looking for:
  • Competent in the use of computerised systems, such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Technical experience / knowledge of similar industry.
  • Experience of managing processes and following through with tasks
  • Experience in managing team members
