Senior Software Engineer Surrey £50,000 - £60,000 +perm benefitsA leading insurance organisation based in Surrey is currently recruiting for a Senior Software Engineer to join an organisation at the start of a large digital transformation to enhance and develop business critical suite of web & windows enterprise applications serving multiple business streams. Alongside this the Senior Software Engineer will perform a variety of programming assignments requiring knowledge of established programming practices and data processing requirementsKey Responsibilities / Activities*Involved in all aspects of Software Development and Enhancement activities as below, but not limited to:*Developing existing and new systems by conducting robust impact analysis and identifying code changes in line with best practices*Working within Agile (Kanban / Scrum) / Waterfall Delivery teams depending on nature of delivery projects undertaken*Ensure robust unit testing and quality of code developed*Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation under the guidance of the Technical Lead*Integrate software with existing systems *Constantly improve technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and external courses, as well as exploring new technological offerings in the market*Demonstrate clear, effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff within the Technology and Business environment*Create and maintain technical specifications and relevant project documentationKey Requirements*Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field*Enterprise application development experience within a Microsoft .NET based environment*Strong understanding of the software development cycle*Good time management and problem-solving skills*Demonstrable experience in working with established project methodologies including agile, scrum and waterfall principles*Adept with source control activities like shelving, merging, check-ins using TFS*Track record of consistently delivering good quality software*Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented *Well organized with good communication and reporting skills *Ability to successfully work under tight delivery deadlinesTechnical Skills (Required)*C#, ASP.NET, MVC, .NET Framework 4.0, Web Services, WCF, Web API, LINQ, AJAX, jQuery, JSON*Biztalk*SQL Server 2008/2016, Entity Framework*XML, XSLT, HTML5, CSS*TFSSpring acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
