Window PatcherMachine Operator My client based in Croydon, Surrey is an expanding, third generation family business that was established in 1953. With over 65,000 sq. ft of modern production and warehouse space, they specialise in manufacturing food grade packaging fromgreen materials.The RoleThe role is very hands on and will require a mechanically minded individual with a particular attention to detail to deliver against production targets. You will handle any mechanical faults as they arise, addressing them quickly and ensuring little downtime.Your role will involve working as part of the operations team on the production line. However, you will also be required to spring into action to complete reactive, or planned maintenance, including fault finding, assisting with smooth changeovers, and also working on process and system improvement projects across the lines.The machines are relatively unusual in the industry and the business will not expect you to have worked on them before, so there will be a lot of learning to be done, however, full and comprehensive training is provided.The ideal candidate will have a machine technician background from a manufacturing environment - packaging experience would be a plus. You should also be a Team player with keen eye for detail.Skills requiredIdeally, you should have experience of running a window patcher or operating gluing machines, but considerations will be made for candidates that have an aptitude in operating machinery along with transferable skills from alternative industries.Experience of working the following packaging, carton and tray forming machines will also be useful:Bobst, Geitz, Jagenberg, Kohmann, Omega, Signature, Vega, Digistar Window Patching machine,Heiber and Schroeder.PackageStart ASAPDuration Permanent with a 3 month (60 working days) Probation PeriodHourly Rate £10.00 – 11.00 an hour = a salary of £20,540 - £22,657 per annum based upon skills and experienceBonus Annual Bonus is one week’s pay at the end of the yearPay Review Annual Pay & Performance review takes place in January of each yearHours: Standard hours are 39.67 hours a weekTimes: Monday – Thursday 7.30am till 4.30pm and 7.30am till 3.40pm on a FridayBreaks A morning 25 minute break and a 35 minute lunch break. (Changed to two 35 minute breaks due to the virus)Overtime Paid over 39.67 hours at “time and a half” and is almost always availableSaturday Overtime usually available subject to business requirements.Holidays 20 days (of which 5 is used for the Xmas shutdown) plus the 8 Bank Holidays.
