Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director in this challenging role, you will ensure the company continually improves its quality performance through improving its quality culture and changing its approach from inspection to prevention, and ensure the company maintains its compliance to the relevant quality standards whilst pursuing the companys people development and continuous improvement targets.Client DetailsMy client is a leading automotive manufacturing business in Surrey.DescriptionThe Head of Quality will have the following responsibility:

  • Development of a Quality Strategy which is aligned with business goals.
  • Ensure that all products manufactured are compliant to design and customer specifications and meet the relevant legal, company and industry standards.
  • Ensure quality risks are managed effectively.
  • To monitor and manage effectively all relevant cost centre budgets.
  • To ensure staffing levels meet requirement each working day and that all functions are adequately and appropriately staffed at all times.
  • Ensure all operative and strategic targets are reached within the site, e.g. PPM, Scrap, & Customer Returns.
  • Drive optimised quality performance and improve processes to reduce non-value-added activity.
  • Drive continuous improvement processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for identifying and investigating saving opportunities covering all projects & processes.
  • Provide miscellaneous support to other departments.
  • Ensure that the business remains compliant to the relevant Quality Standards.
  • Effectively communicate to customers on a proactive basis and as needed.
  • Profile
  • Established Quality Manager / Head of Quality in a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of TS16949 / IATF1694:2016.
  • Knowledge in the implementation and use of Advanced Quality Planning tools such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP, and Gauge R&R.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving quality to sub 500 PPM levels.
  • Knowledge in Injection Moulding manufacturing process would be an advantage.
  • Strong leadership credentials with demonstrable success at affecting cultural change within traditional engineering organisations.
  • Strong people management skills, with ability to focus and drive staff to achieve results in a pressurised environment to strict deadlines.
  • Able to influence the culture and behaviour of colleagues across the business, not just direct team members.
