Full Address: Rentwood, School Lane, Fetcham, Surrey KT22 9JXExact working hours: 21.6 hours - 3 days per weekAny further details: Salary £20,000 to £23,000 p.a. pro rata according to qualifications and experience.Job AdvertPlease note that this vacancy is not part of Surrey County Council, we are advertising this on behalf of a partnership organisation.Job DetailsSight for Surrey is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO)/ Sight Loss Advisor to join our existing Eye Clinic Service.We are commissioned by Surrey County Council to provide specialist assessment, rehabilitation and reablement services, including management of the local authority register of vision impairment. SFS also provides other specialist services including, community outreach, specialist one to one support, equipment, interpreting and communication support and independent living advice for people who are vision impaired, have combined sight and hearing loss who are hard of hearing or Deaf.As an ECLO you will be a vital member of the Sight for Surrey and Hospital teams, bridging the gap between hospital and community-based services providing people diagnosed with sight loss, their families and carers with essential practical and emotional support. This can be face to face within a hospital setting, in community locations and via digital platforms as required. Key to this role will be your excellent communication and relationship building skills with patients, clinicians and a wide range of cross sector partners. You must be able to work on your own initiative, have excellent organisational skills and be a confident user of multiple IT systems. If needed full training will be provided and a Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.A successful candidate will have:

  • A good understanding of the Health and Social Care Sector
  • Experience of assessing individual needs
  • Positive networking, presentation and partnership-building skills
  • Personal initiative and the ability to prioritise own workload and be self sufficient
  • IT literacy and competency in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers.
