Job Description

This is an excellent fixed term contract or secondment opportunity to be part of a team delivering an exciting strategic programme of transformational change at Surrey County Council to implement Unit 4 ERP and Proactis as a fully integrated Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) ERP solution to replace our existing SAP system which supports business critical Finance, HR, Payroll and Procurement processes.Tell me more...You will be joining during the Design phase of the project and will be the Councils technical design expert in the new SaaS ERP solution. Your role will primarily fulfil a quality assurance function, ensuring that the delivered design is robust, coherent in terms of interoperability between its component parts and compliant with the Councils IT standards. With your expert knowledge of the new system, you will share your knowledge, support and provide a challenge to the technical teams and implementation partner to ensure the implemented solution design is robust and can be effectively supported in BAU.What sort of person are we looking for

  • You relish a challenge and will be excited by this opportunity to be the Councils internal technical expert on the Unit 4 ERP SaaS solution.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of the technical design and architecture of the Unit 4 ERP SaaS solution and a strong understanding of how it is configured.
  • You have significant experience in providing technical support for a Unit 4 ERP SaaS implementation at a previous organisation.
  • You are a versatile technical professional, and either already have experience in or are keen to learn about the Proactis solution, its architecture and how it interfaces with the Unit 4 ERP SaaS solution.
  • You will be great at sharing your knowledge in the new system with the Councils internal team to enable them to provide robust support for the new solution.
  • You are excellent at communicating and building relationships with project stakeholders, programme team members and 3rd party suppliers.
  • You will be an excellent team player, the sort of person that thrives working in a group of people all tasked with completing a large, complex, interdependent and ambitious task!
    • The small print...You will be an agile worker, working remotely from home and from offices in the north-west of Surrey based on the needs of the programme. The role will initially be formally based out of County Hall, Penrhyn Road, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey KT1 2DW until County Hall is vacated by 31st December 2020. The Council is in the process of acquiring new office spaces across Surrey to be in place during 2021, including within the north west of the county, but a specific permanent location for the programme is still to be confirmed.The role may also require travel to sites across the county when required. Remote working is fully supported with the provision of a light-weight laptop and remote access technology.The role will be for a total of 14 months at 1 FTE from 1st October 2020 to 1st December 2021.For more information, please see the full job description attached at the bottom of this page.Additional InformationThe job advert closes at 23:59 on 08/09/2020.
