Job Description

Data Cabling Engineer - SurreyAlecto Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer based around Surrey to join our clients expanding team. This position has become available due to company growth and would prefer someone at this time with experience thatcan hit the ground running.Our client are a global company who specialist within the IT, AV and Data industry, specifically Installing and Maintaining IT and Data set ups as well as Audio Visual systems. The company are well known and well respected and they are looking for Data Cablerswho want a chance to expand their knowledge and career at an exciting, forward thinking company.Key Responsibilities

  • Full voice and data installations including 1st and 2nd fixing cabling throughout a range of sites
  • Working across established and new sites
  • Installation of containments
  • Installation of fibre cable
  • Installation and termination of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a etc.
  • Fault finding and reporting on cabling issues and various communication systems
  • Completing and maintaining company and client paperwork
Desired Skills
  • Hold previous data cabling experience (essential) and experience of data installations and testing using fluke test equipment
  • Be able to read site plans and plan work
  • Have experience of installations of comms cabinets and patching
  • Be able to liaise with internal and external personnel and have strong communication skills
  • Experience with fault finding and rectifying faults
  • Cat6 experience (desirable)
  • A large percentage of this role requires working away from home.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Hold a CSCS card
  • Have IPAF and PASMA certificates (desirable)
  • Be willing to travel within the UK and complete some out of hours work
In return, the company are prepared to pay between £28,000 - £35,000 as a basic salary. There is also overtime available paid at extra rates.
