Cook/Chef (Care Home) - GuildfordRef: CW14779Howard Finley Care are currently recruiting for a Cook/ Chef to work within our clients Nursing Home based in Puttenham, Guildford. This position is within a service which provides care for up to 30 individualswho are Elderly, have Dementia needs and more.Cook/Chef vacancy details:£10.00 per hourFull-time, permanent employmentCook/Chef shift patterns:8:00am/ 9:00am to 4:00pmCook/Chef experience and requirements:Certificate in Food Safety and HygieneClear understandingof Health and Safety issuesAble to complete written records such as record books, accident/incident report sheets etcAble to work as art of a team and use initiative to deal with problems in a practical way and respond appropriately where additional help isrequired or in an emergency situationDemonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities issues as they apply in the work place and challenge attitudes and practices which are discriminatoryPrevious experience in a similar setting (i.e. a care home or a school)is essential to be consideredKnowledge of nutritional needs of older peopleHealth and Safety and regulatory requirementsAbility to work in a team, a caring nature and a positive attitudeCook/Chef duties:Prepare hot and cold meals for residents according totheir needs and preferencesAssist in planning seasonal menusClean kitchen and equipmentCollect and distribute crockery from the resident areasMaintain a clean and hygienic environmentCarry out any reasonable request or instruction from the Home ManagerEnsurecompliance with the Health & Safety Policy and regulations in kitchen and storesCarry out any checks in the kitchen as required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, for example recording fridge temperaturesReport all accidents and incidents tothe Person-in-Charge of the HomeHave full knowledge of the Fire Procedures, fire escapes and a working knowledge of the firefighting equipmentHave full knowledge of and take responsibility to ensure adherence to infection control policies and procedures ofthe Department of Health and the Company at all timeIf you are interested in this position, please apply with your most up to date CV.
