Mileage to be paid at 40p per mile. Job details Sight for Surrey is a large countywide charity, committed to working with children & young people who have significant vision impairment or multi-sensory impairment, to provide services and activities to encourage inclusion and enhance their life opportunities.Sight for Surrey is looking for a confident and outgoing person to continue the work we do with the young people who access our services. You will need to have an ability to organise and run events, undertake risk assessments and manage a team of volunteers.The successful applicant will have an understanding of issues relating to Safeguarding.Some knowledge of issues relating to sight loss and multi-sensory loss would be an advantage.The successful applicant will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check which the organisation will arrange.Sight for Surrey has a full training and development programme for staff. First Aid and Safeguarding training will be arranged if the successful applicant does not hold up to date certificates.Hours can be flexible to meet the demands of the service, but the applicant will be required to work on Tuesdays to attend meetings and be available for activities during the weekends and school holidays.As part of the interview process applicants will be expected to present a ten minute outline of an event that they might organise for teenagers. Applicants should consider how to make the event accessible and include the process they would follow to ensure health & safety and other considerations are addressed.Applications will be reviewed on receipt against set criteria.Interview day will be arranged in-line with Social distancing recommendations.
