Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Art Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join our outstanding school. As an Art Teacher, you will have the opportunity to ignite creativity, nurture artistic skills, and inspire a love for the visual artsamong our students. Your role will involve planning and delivering engaging art lessons, facilitating artistic exploration, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Design and deliver high-quality art lessons that align with the curriculum requirements and school policies. Create engaging and innovative lesson plans that stimulate artistic expression and skill development across various mediumsand techniques.
  • Creative Exploration: Encourage students to explore and experiment with different art forms, materials, and processes. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that allows students to express their unique artistic voices and develop their creativity.
  • Skill Development: Provide expert instruction and guidance to enhance students technical skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and other art disciplines. Offer constructive feedback and support students in their artistic growth and self-expression.
  • Artistic Appreciation and Critique: Promote the understanding and appreciation of art history, diverse artistic styles, and cultural influences. Encourage critical thinking and engage students in thoughtful discussions about artworks, artists, and artisticconcepts.
  • Display and Exhibition: Organize and curate displays and exhibitions of students artwork within the school and potentially in external venues. Celebrate and showcase the artistic achievements of students, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student artwork through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their artistic development. Track progress and set targets for individual students, helping them to reach their fullpotential.
  • Collaborative Projects: Collaborate with colleagues across different disciplines to create interdisciplinary projects and encourage the integration of art with other subjects, fostering a holistic and cross-curricular learning experience.
  • Extra-curricular Activities: Support and facilitate art-related extracurricular activities, such as art clubs, workshops, and competitions. Encourage student participation and provide opportunities for them to further explore their artistic interests.
  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Uphold the schools policies and procedures regarding the safeguarding and well-being of students. Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment where students can express themselves freely and respectfully.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialization in Art or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Art, preferably in an outstanding school or with a track record of excellent student outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of various art forms, techniques, and art history.
  • Passion for fostering creativity, artistic exploration, and self-expression among students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying informed about current trends and practices in art education.
