Trust Doctor, NeonatesThe Trust is seeking to recruit ST1/ST2/ST3 Level doctor commencing 1st March 2021 for 6 months in the first instance. The post holder will join an existing team of four ST1-3 level doctors and four Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and will be based at the tertiary neonatal intensive care unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital.The neonatal unit is staffed to treat 6-8 intensive care babies concurrently and both inborn and outborn babies are managed. All common modes of ventilation are catered for including high frequency oscillation and nitric oxide. The unit provides full intensive care for all babies except those requiring general and cardiac surgery. Resources such as diagnostic echocardiography, Therapeutic Hypothermia, neurophysiology and MRI are readily available.This post requires the candidate to be able show broad medical knowledge and recent experience within a NHS setting.Successful candidates must possess a basic medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) and must be fully registered with the GMC.The postholder will be working a New Deal/EWTD compliant full shift system.Informal enquiries about the post can be made through Dr Majd Abu-Harb, Consultant Neonatologist Clinical Lead, or Dr Lorna Gillespie, Consultant Neonatologist, via switchboard on . or by e-mail majd.abu-harb@chsft.nhs.uk or lorna.gillespie@chsft.nhs.uk
